Disability & Inclusion Officer Drop-Ins at Kings Buildings

We are delighted to announce we have drop-in appointments available at the Kings Buildings Campus.

Our primary location is the Health & Wellbeing Centre on the Central Campus, but we also now have team members available at Murchison House on the Kings Buildings Campus on specific days.

Appointments at Murchison House with Mental Health Mentors, Autism Mentors and Disability Advisors, will need to be scheduled in advance. This can be done via our website. Please state you would like an appointment at Kings Buildings.

During Semester periods, our Disability & Inclusion Officers (DIOs) offer drop-in sessions every Friday from 9.30am to 4pm at Murchison House.

You can find our DIOs in room G.20 on the ground floor of Murchison House, to the left when you enter the building through the main entrance.

The DIO Team assists disabled students in accessing appropriate support through the Disability & Learning Support Service and external DSA funding.  Officers can address general queries about disability support at the University, guide students through the Service registration process, and help complete repeat funding applications for DSA.  They determine the necessary steps to implement learning adjustments and specialised support, using various communication methods such as in-person meetings, MS Teams meetings, phone calls and emails.  Additionally, they provide general information and referrals to both internal and external support services, and offer guidance on registering with a local GP.
